Max Verstappen called it disgusting for fans who burned the merchandise of Lewis Hamilton during F1 Austrian GP.
The recent weeks has seen lots of fans going berserk especially those of Red Bull’s Verstappen and Mercedes’ Hamilton after a heavy 2021 F1 season. It got intensified in all of the year and the engagement was pretty bad on both sides.
The races at their home venues saw heavy hatred against each other, so much so that the current Austrian GP saw fans harassing and bullying others which created lot of dramas, so much so that Mercedes and Aston Martin helped fans into the paddock.
That same weekend, there were videos of fans burning merchandise of Hamilton which upset everyone. When the Dutchman was asked about the same, he agreed it was disgusting on their part to do it and he will never encourage anyone to do it.
“That’s of course not acceptable,” said Verstappen. “I mean, these individuals… No, I definitely don’t agree with that because that’s just disgusting. But overall, I think the majority of the fans which also were cheering a lot, I think throughout the race and also on the podium for every driver, I think that’s how it should be. And yeah, those videos, or video, of burning merch I think that’s disgusting.”
