Fabio Quartararo was MotoGP champion last year and is leading the championship again this year. He is the best Yamaha rider in the field, by a large margin on points, and Carlo Pernat recognizes not only his internal supremacy, but also his champion character.
Speaking to the website GPOne.com, the rider manager said that the Iwata manufacturer is particularly dependent on the frenchman and will now face two particularly adverse rounds:
– Yamaha has Fabio Quartararo, who proved to be a champion even on a bike inferior to Ducati. But now come two tracks that are not favorable to Yamaha: Mugello and Barcelona, with the straights where Yamaha loses a lot to Ducati.
Pernat has no doubt that, at the moment, Yamaha is focused on Quartararo, who is the only one to get good results: ‘Yamaha now lives for Quartararo and between [Franco] Morbidelli, [Andrea] Dovizioso]and [Darryn] Binders aren’t showing results’.
