Days after returning to motorcycling on the motocross circuit, Marc Marquez’s recovery took another step forward by riding the Honda RC213V-S for a full day in Portugal.
For the first time since winning the Emilia Romagna Grand Prix on October 24, 2021, Marc Marquez was back at a closed circuit as he continued to assess the development and improvement of his diplopia. With a total of 65 laps over the day, Marquez and his team were able to further assess his current state ahead of the 2022 MotoGP World Championship.
First and foremost, the eight-time world champion was overjoyed to be able to experience the thrill of motorcycling again after his enforced break. Marquez reported no major concerns about his diplopia during the day and was content and upbeat about the day’s work. Attention now turns to the first pre-season test at the Sepang International Circuit in early February. Marquez is working to be fit and ready to return to his Repsol Honda Team RC213V.
