Arenas suffered not only from the pain of his broken collarbone on Sunday, but also from the frustration of leaving the Moto 3 race.
The Angel Nieto team rider was hoping to get back in shape after a mediocre season for Mahindra last season.
But he is out of today’s race in Qatar after a serious crash in training.
Arenas, 21, overturned towards Turn 10 in the QatarGP session and landed heavily on his side.
The Spaniard got off the track and was eventually caught by the race stewards.
He was seen grooming his right arm as he walked back to the paddock and was later pictured in a sling.
His team issued a statement that read: “Albert Arenas will not be participating in the #QatarGP but is already thinking of coming back stronger.”
Arenas qualified 23rd for today’s Moto 3 race with a time of 2: 8.480 minutes – more than two seconds slower than pole sitter Niccolo Antonelli.
