Jack Miller was eliminated from the race that weekend after the driver crashed at Turn 15 while chasing the leader. In his debriefing, the rider assured that there were no problems with the bike as he approached the penultimate corner at Misano.
No, there was nothing wrong with turn 15. I think it had more to do with our choice [of tyres]. We went for the hard front tire, it felt like a feat and I felt it was good. At 1 o’clock [local time] It looked fantastic, it looked like a brilliant idea, but when we were on the grid, the clouds came up. I think it wasn’t hot enough, ”he told Motorcycle Sports when asked if there were any problems with a particular point in the gearshift.
The driver finished his answer by making sure he was able to apply good pace at the start of the race:
- “I was near [Francesco] ‘Summit’ [Bagnaia] on lap eight. I didn’t put too much stress on the tire and when I turned 15 there was no hope of even trying to save. I had great pace at the beginning and was able to do a few more laps, but it wasn’t easy.
It is important to note that today only Jack Miller and Francesco Bagnaia, both riders on the official Ducati team, went into this Grand Prix with a hard front tire.
