chassis

For 2018, the chassis was modified in its rigidity balance and designed for maximum compatibility between cornering and stability. The double-spar aluminum chassis is immensely light, yet offers the ideal rigidity and strength properties required to hold and deliver more than 180 kW from the RC213V’s motor to the rear tires. In addition to strength, the chassis offers the right amount of carefully designed flexibility to improve tire grip.

engine

We have adopted the 4-cylinder V-engine with 1,000 cubic capacity for RC213V, which can utilize a maximum power of 1,000 cc to hold 18 races in the season with 7 engines. We’ve checked all the details of the new engine to make it lighter, more powerful and more driver-friendly.

suspension

For 2018 the RC213V is equipped with Öhlins suspension front and rear. The suspension is the essential link between the wheel and the chassis. The job of the suspension is to keep the tire in contact with the ground and create maximum grip as the machine hits the thousands of bumps and bumps that occur every lap . It’s a crucial link in the performance chain and that’s why both Repsol Honda riders have assigned a dedicated Öhlins technician.

body

The lightweight carbon fiber body plays an important role in making the RC213V as aerodynamic as possible. The 2018 RC213V has a modified fairing to achieve the maximum compatibility and performance between handling and resistance.

tires

MotoGP tires are supplied exclusively by Michelin. Each driver may use a maximum of 22 slick tires and 11 rain tires per Grand Prix weekend.

Brakes

Carbon fiber brakes are supplied by Brembo. For the rear and front window in wet conditions, the RC213V relies on Yutaka steel brake discs.
