Honda is not thinking of the possibility of not having Marc Marquez at the beginning of 2022

Marc Márquez has another problem with diplopia (double vision) after a training fall in November last year. Despite being a difficult condition to resolve, Repsol has ruled out Honda team principal Alberto Puig from considering the possibility of Márquez not being able to start the MotoGP season from the start.

When asked whether Honda has already solved the scenario that # 93 has not been fit since it began in 2022, those responsible for the motosan.es website assured that this was not the case, although it was necessary to closely monitor the situation :

– No, we didn’t think about that. It’s like saying, ‘Do you think you’re doing things wrong?’ No, we did not consider what happened, that we shall see how it is, but to consider that first would be self-flagellation. What is certain is that we must try to orientate ourselves by the medical guidelines, and it is against this background that we shall see.

Regarding Márquez’s current physical condition in relation to the problem of diplopia, Puig said: “He takes the rest, the doctors said, tries to respect the rest, doesn’t stress too much and hopes some time will pass. He is also waiting for the situation to gradually normalize.
