Joan Mir had a tough race that Sunday, finishing sixth after battling Marc Márquez and Jack Miller for the top four, but ended the lap dissatisfied with what he says was the end of hopes for the title fight.
“Today I have the feeling that my title defense is over. Today we couldn’t make any mistakes. Not that I made mistakes, we just weren’t as competitive as everyone expected, that’s what disappointed me, I expected more, ”he began to say when asked to comment on defending the title after the race that still belongs to him:
– It’s hard to believe [the fight for] the championship is over for me because the day I feel like I can’t fight for the title, I’ll retire, I won’t wait a year [to try to be competitive]. That’s what I’m here for, but this time I’ve had a tough day.
