Grand Prix and test plan

The first insights into the MotoGP calendar 2022 are here. Three official tests are planned and the opening round has been revealed.

The 2022 FIM MotoGP World Championship Series starts under the lights at the Losail International Circuit in Qatar. The night race is planned for March 6th, but Dorna still regards the date as “preliminary”.

The 2022 Moto GP season begins on January 31 at the Sepang International Circuit with the shakedown test. However, it is only open to factory test riders and MotoGP newbies. Just a few days later, all MotoGP racers are invited to the Sepang test on the same track of the same name in Malaysia.

Less than a week after completing the Sepang test, the Mandalika test arrives. The test will be the MotoGP debut for the long awaited new Mandalika International Street Circuit in Indonesia.

Although not MotoGP, there will be a Moto2 and Moto3 test at the Circuito de Jerez – Ángel Nieto runs from February 22nd to 24th.

The six factory teams are almost completely set for 2022:

Aprilia Racing Team

  • Alexis Espargaro
  • Maverick Viñales

Ducati Lenovo team

  • Pecco Bagnaia
  • Jack Miller

Respol Honda team

  • Pol Espargaró
  • Marc Marquez

Red Bull KTM factory race

  • Brad Binder
  • Miguel Oliveira

Team Suzuki Ecstar

Monster Energy Yamaha MotoGP

  • Fabio Quartararo
  • TBA (probably Franco Morbidelli)

Make sure you bookmark this page as we will update the MotoGP 2022 calendar as events are added. We all keep our fingers crossed that the races will not be postponed or canceled like this and last year.
