The following is from Pure Attitude Racing…
Pure Attitude Racing is delighted to announce that Kiwi Liam MacDonald will remain with the squad for the 2022 MotoAmerica season.
For MacDonald it will the first time in his short but successful racing career that he will remain with the same team and it’s something that both he and Pure Attitude Racing are happy to reveal ahead of the current season finale at Barber Motorsport Park this coming weekend.
Still only 22 years of age, Liam has shown throughout his debut racing season in the US that he can learn circuits quickly, and that he has the pace to run consistently inside the top ten, something he is proud of and something he and the team are confident of building on ahead of lights out in 2022. With a best race result to date of fifth the #37 heads to this weekend’s final round intent on ending the year on a high and is confident of another strong result.
Liam MacDonald:“I am really excited to stay with Pure Attitude Racing for another year. It’s been a great experience and we have developed a good working relationship. They are a team that believes in me and to have the consistency of the same team and the same people for two years in a row is something that I haven’t had before. I know that the package we have is good enough and I will go into 2022 knowing all the circuits and knowing that we can be more competitive from the beginning. I am interested to see which riders will stay in the series and who my rivals will be, but I am ready for it. I want to thank the team for everything this year and for wanting to continue to work with me for another season. We still have one race left this year and that’s the focus right now, but I am already thinking about next year and the great things that we can achieve together.”
Dean Standish, Pure Attitude Racing Team Owner: “I am really happy that Liam has chosen to stay with us for another season. We have accomplished everything we set out to achieve together in 2021, including letting him show what he can do on a competitive bike but more importantly give him the chance to enjoy his racing again. He has grown incredibly both as a rider and as a person and we are all very proud of what he has done this season. The Twins Cup in MotoAmerica is not an easy class. There are some great teams and many fast riders, but Liam has run with the best of them from the very first race. He has learned the tracks quickly and I genuinely feel that in 2022 we can hit the ground running. He knows what to expect, he knows the tracks and we will have data from this year to start from. There is no reason we cannot be fighting at the sharp end and standing on the podium together next season. I want to thank Liam publicly for taking all the advice we have given and for adapting to a totally new environment in the professional way he has. We could not be happier to continue our journey together!”
