Two days of team building in Jerez, as companies normally do with their managers. But we’re not talking about neat professionals in suits, but about drivers who live on gasoline and adrenaline. Ducati invited all of its riders to the Spanish circuit, where they were given the best of its racing bikes, the Panigale V4S.
Pecco Bagnaia, Luca Marini, Jack Miller, Enea Bastianini, Johann Zarco and Jorge Martin didn’t think twice, took the opportunity, packed their leather things in their luggage and were ready for the appointment. After all, there is no better training than competing against opponents of your caliber and that will happen today and tomorrow in Jerez.
Two days to strengthen the team spirit, to get to know each other better and to compete against each other on the track. Each rider has their Panigale individually designed: some with a sponsor (like Bastianini), some with the VR46 Riders Academy logo (Bagnaia and Marini) and some with artistic graphics (Zarco).
Aesthetics aside, time will tell who wins because – you can bet your lower dollar on it – no one is going to want to be beaten by any of the others, not even in practice. And there was also Tito Rabat, SBK driver for Ducati, who is always ready to benefit from a track day.
Michele Pirro was also present, but will be at the Desmosedici MotoGP. It’s the GP21’s first outing in 2021 and this will be an important test to try out the upgrades before testing in Qatar.
The weather was not good this morning, but in the afternoon the drivers were able to go out on the track. We leave you with the first photos of the day.
