Anthony West will return to racing and apologizes to the FIM. The situation in which the Australian has been embroiled in the past few months is finally over.
Let’s rewind to September 2018: West was banned for doping during the Misano lap when racing in supersport, so that he was excluded from participating in any competition. but Anthony did not accept this decision and still competed in the Brazilian SBK championship.
This was something the FIM – which was seriously attacked by the Australian driver – did not ignore. In the following months he accused him several times of wanting to destroy his life and of inventing machinations in the World Cup to lead Marquez and Rossi to victory.
However, President Jorge Viegas had reached out his hand to West, acknowledging that these were the words of a desperate man, and promised not to take any further action against him.
Last August, the FIM passed a new six-month banbecause West did not respect the racing ban. This expires on March 24th, 2021.
Now West has decided to express his thoughts one more time on social media … but this time to apologize.
He wrote: “I am returning to the races. 03/15/2021. I am making this post to publicly apologize for my previous behavior towards the FIM, which I believe to have been unacceptable, degrading and hostile. My previous statements on social media regarding the FIM were offensive and spread malicious false rumors and unfortunately were made public due to my state of mind at the time I made my statements. “
