By mutual agreement, NTS RW Racing GP and Steven Odendaal have decided to part ways with immediate effect. The South African was in his second season in the Moto2 World Championship with RW Racing GP and his third season with NTS.
“Steven missed a crucial part of the season due to a serious injury” – says NTS RW Racing GP team manager Jarno Janssen- “This made the sporting relationship, which has nothing to do with the human, difficult. Nobody benefits from this: not the team, not the bike development team and certainly not the rider. That was the reason I decided it was better to quit. It was not an easy decision because Steven was involved in the NTS project and the development of the machine from the start. NTS RW Racing GP would like to thank him for this and we wish Steven all the best for the future. “
“Of course it’s a big disappointment to leave in the middle of the season,” says Steven Odendaal –Everyone did their best, but we didn’t get it the way we’d all hoped. I am grateful to NTS RW Racing GP and their partners for their efforts, for the opportunities and for the trust they have placed in me. “
The name of his successor has not yet been announced.
