Goodbye Phillip Island, if things go well we’ll see each other again next year. The cancellation of the Australian GP was almost a given, but now it’s official. A cancellation that has led to a shift in the calendar with Thailand and Malaysia now one after the other. A move to Sepang is also not one hundred percent secure.
On the other hand, the postponed GPs will definitely be canceled: Indonesia and Argentina, while the GP in Austin is still on the calendar. 19 appointments would be a great result for Dorna and FIM in a year still affected by the pandemic.

FIM, IRTA and Dorna Sports regret to announce the cancellation of the Red Bull Australian Motorcycle Grand Prix. Due to the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic and the resulting travel complications and logistical restrictions, the feasibility of the event cannot currently be confirmed and will therefore not appear in the 2021 calendar. The FIM MotoGPTM World Championship looks forward to racing again in front of Australian fans on the spectacular Phillip Island Grand Prix circuit in 2022.
The Malaysia Motorcycle Grand Prix 2021 has therefore been brought forward and will take place a week earlier than originally planned from 22.
In addition, FIM, IRTA and Dorna Sports are pleased to confirm the inclusion of the Grande Premio do Algarve in the calendar of the FIM MotoGPTM World Championship 2021. MotoGPTM will return to Portimão from November 5-7, the week before the Gran Premio Motul de la Comunitat Valenciana, as the legendary Autodromo do Algarve welcomes MotoGPTM for a second Grand Prix this season.
